San Gimignano & Siena Private Tour

The one hour 15 drive from Livorno will go by quickly as you drive through the beautiful Tuscany countryside - rolling hills covered with vineyards and silvery green olive groves - on your way to the medieval village of San Gimignano. When you reach San Gimignano, you will find a small, walled medieval hill-top town, famous for its medieval architecture and especially its towers.
Your driver will be able to give you an idea of what to expect in the areas you are about to visit the area is known for its wealth & Rich families competed in the erection of high towers, that served as lodging, protection, and also status symbols. Of the town's 76 original towers, only about 15 remain. Stroll around the narrow cobbled streets, taking in the sights of the town: Sant'Agostino (Church of St. Augustine) with its Benozzo Gozzoli frescos, and the Collegiata, the main church, situated in Piazza del Duomo at the heart of the town. Enjoy a taste of the local white Vernaccia wine, and have a little free time where you will surely be tempted by local pottery and souvenirs.
Maybe have lunch there in one of the local canteens or a glass of wine & some local cheese for an apetizer.
Next stop your driver will take you onto Siena about a 50 minutes drive you will arrive in Siena. Here you will find the walls and gates surrounding a city center made up of narrow, winding streets and old buildings and palaces. The city center is dominated by the Piazza del Campo, a large shell-shaped square where the civic life of Siena is focused, and where the "Palio delle Contrade", a biannual horse race, is held. And don't miss the city's great cathedral, San Domenico church. Dedicated to Santa Caterina, this cathedral is noted for its marble pavement and Gothic façade.

I would like to thank you for organising and Mario for driving us on the tour to Amalfi Coast, Pompeii and Naples on the 2nd July He is a great person, he was very obliging and as I mentioned before we went one of our party could not walk too well and Mario took as as high up to the sights as he could and into the Villiages!

Many thanks for the excellent services that your company provides. As you know, we booked your services in both Naples and Livorno. In both cases the Drivers (Rino and Michael) were great. Our group, 4 adults, were very impressed with the punctuality and professionalism of the drivers as well as their flexibility.
We were on a cruise ship (The Carnival Liberty) and in both locations driver and car were right on time and easy to find. They were dockside at the appointed time. Both trips were comfortable, well driven and with drivers with whom we became very comfortable. Good English and well dressed, generally very nice to spend time with.
